Count a defined set of products

Start with a short list of high-priority SKUs. Record the date, shelf units and back-room units separately so the next person can verify the number.

Separate sales from other stock movement

Deliveries, returns, damages and transfers change stock too. A sell-through figure is useful only when opening stock, receipts and sales are reliable for the same period.

Make the reorder decision explicit

For each item, note whether to reorder, wait or investigate. If ordering, record the target quantity and the reason, then confirm supplier terms before a purchase order.
